SPIRIT Ephesians 4:22-24 NIV(22) You will be taught with regard to your former way of life to put off your old self which is being corrupted by it decetiful desires (23) to be made new in the attitude of your minds (24) and to put on the new self created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. We encourage the residents to read the word of God dailly. There is a bible study weekly. Church services on Wednesday and Sunday are mandatory. SOULGrief: As a woman starts recover, there is a felling of loss and great loneliness. Dealing with the grieving process is essential for recovery, not only for the addicted woman, but for the family member, if there is one. Anger: Anger is a part of the addiction process. We explain the anger cycle, where it starts and ways of expressing it mor appropriately. Stress: The dynamics of our fast-paced society promotes major stressful situations. Due to the lack of coping mechanisms, addicts try to find any easy way out - addiction. It is our objective to teach ways to cope with stressful situations from a Christian perspective. BODYEach woman upon arriving receives a complete physical examination at Swope Parkway Health Center. Good nutrition and an increased level of health consciousness is practiced. Films and lectures on the affects of drugs on the human body are presented, along with a variety of wholesome, restorative activities. |
